Talking about literature is very confusing when it refers to its true definition. Based on my survey literature is everything that had been already written. I guess "already written" means "already done (like printed books and etc)". We can say, they are right but "Is that literature can't be express?" like in drama? And there is another issue they are some people says "literature cannot be imaginative!", because they believe that all of it's content must be factual. It was very debatable based on my studies that we tackle with my teacher and my classmates also.
But for me, literature is a written body of words that can be express in different ways like in music and drama. In music, we can't make beautiful songs without its composition. Sometimes we can't really understand what is the message of a song without it's lyrics. And also in drama, without its script we can't make a beautiful scenes. Like the introduction and also the climax that I always waiting for.
I think literature is like a tree that has many branches and leaves that symbolizes literature can be express in many ways. And the root symbolizes its consistency. Whatever you do in literature you can't put away the essence of it.
