Dr. Jose Rizal is the one of the most popular Filipino authors in our history. He was the one of the heroes who sacrifices his life for our country during the Spanish era. Before he died, he wrote a novel about the events during their time those are the Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo. This novel contains the abuses of the Spaniards against the Filipinos.
In the plot of the story, there was a man who fights for his life and for his country to get the freedom that he wants from the Spaniards like the other Filipinos. Because of the unforgivable abuses of the Spaniards, he was force to revenge and he changed himself as a rich man. His name was Ibarra and turn into Simoun to not to be notice by his enemies. He makes his plans with the person who has an intention to revenge to the Spaniards like him. First was successful but when the story goes on, they realized, that is not the way to get their freedom that they want. So all their plans were destroyed and also Simoun’s life. He ended his life by drinking a poison and a Friar named father Florentino put away all the money that was given by Simoun to the Sea.
Rizal's significant contributions in the Philippine literature were in Asian freedom movement. Because of his novels, many people were inspired. And because of it, he had a sculpture that made from stones that remind us of what Dr. Rizal did in our country and also to the other country that really change us.
This novel teach us to love our country, every people has a purpose in life so don’t waste your time in a nonsense things and also don’t forget that god is everywhere, think that everything happen to us are blessings.

Teodoro Agoncillo
The most significant contribution of Agoncillo was the controversial issues about Philippine literature in history.
For his outstanding achievement as a historian, he was conferred as a National Scientist in 1985.
His books are so very controversial. It makes interesting that influence us to read and to learn more about Philippine history.
Nick Joaquin
Nick Joaquin was a Filipino writer, historian and novelist. Nick Joaquin wrote novels, poems, plays, essays and biographies, exploring many facets of Philippine history in the 20th century from the American colonial period to the Marcos regime. Most of his works are was contained story of the heroes (like Dr. Jose Rizal), politics (like Marcos time), cultural events and more about history.
Many of his written works was played like Tropical Baroque, A Portrait of the Artist as Filipino, Tatarin, Father and Sons, and The Beateas.
He was named National Artist of the Philippines in the 1970s.
Joaquin has three awards from the Don Carlos Palanca Memorial Awards for Literature: First prize for the short story, “La Vidal,” 1958, and for “Doña Jeronima, 1965”; and for the three-act play, "The Beateas", 1976. His books which won the Manila Critics Circles' National Book Awards are: The Aquinos of Tarlac: An Essay in History as Three Generations , 1983; The ‘Quartet of the Tiger Moon: Scenes from the People Power Apocalypse , 1986; Culture and History: Occasional Notes on the Process of Philippine Becoming , 1988, and The World of Damian Domingo: 19 th Century Manila , co-written with Luciano P.R. Santiago and Jaime Ongpin: The Enigma: The Profile of a Filipino as Manager both in 1990.
Joaquin has influenced and inspired generations of Filipino writers in English. He received the ESSO Journalism Award several times, the first Stonehill Fellowship for The Woman Who Had Two Navels in 1960, the Republic Cultural Heritage Award for literature I 1961, and the Patnubay ng Sining at Lakinangan Award from the city government of Manila in 1964. He was conferred the title National Artist in Literature in 1976.
